The Victor Elementary School District is committed to upgrading all District environmental controls equipment with new energy efficient HVAC units and EMS controls to exceed current T-24 Code standards. Consistent with Proposition 39 recommendations, the District HVAC Retrofit project encompasses the “change-out” of existing HVAC equipment to 50 High Efficiency Gas-Electric Roof Mount (15 SEER) units and 58 Wall Pack Electric Heat Pump (15 SEER) units at the District’s first two campuses (Mojave VistaNillage Elementary Schools). The District initially requested the use of Ultra High Efficiency (20 SEER) roof mount units, but at an added $9,400 per unit, the District opted to change to the 15 SEER alternative. The EMS controls were upgraded to “Carrier Open Control” global web-based system by Russell Sigler Controls Group.

About Project

This needed project is a result of a long, consistent effort by the District to provide a “state of the art” maintenance, fueling and training facility for the District’s Transportation Department. The project encompasses over 6.5 acres of vehicular parking, including provision to 58 buses and corresponding staff vehicles. An 18,000 gallon diesel/gasoline fueling station and future CNG station have been provided in conjunction with a full service bus wash rack (and catwalk). The maintenance facility, constructed of an economical metal building system, incorporates four 75 foot deep service bays, parts and tire storage, and various hydraulic and petroleum handling equipment. A separate 7,200 s.f. office building has been provided to house dispatch personnel, staff lounge and training room along with the transportation manager’s office. Over $1 million in off-site street, storm drainage, and utility improvements were also included in the project’s scope of work.
